| | BIOGRAPHIES | Jil Matrisciano Artistic Director of She-figured Dance (SfD) bases her work between Boston and Martha’s Vineyard. She established She-figured Dance in 2001 and has since performed for Choreographer’s Group 2004, TEN’S THE LIMIT 2003, SUNY Brockport 2003, The 2002 Cape & Islands Dance Festival, and Built On Stilts 2000-2004. A former member of NYC’s Wood Dance, Jil’s performing credits include: Tribecca Performing Arts Center, Judson Church, St. Marks Church, The Yard, UC Berkeley, and SUNY Brockport. Jil has an AA in Dance and BS in Physical Education. In 2003, she received her MFA in Choreography and Performance from the State University of New York College at Brockport while on scholarship as a Teaching Assistant for the college’s dance department. Jil’s choreography has been recognized by The American Dance Festival naming her the 1999 recipient of the Bessie Schöenberg Scholarship for Choreographic Potential —acknowledging her solo work, Her Last Breath. Other honors include The American College Dance Festival, SUNY College at Brockport, and Dean College. She has performed the work of choreographers, Shapiro & Smitth, Randy James, and Susannah Newman. In addition to managing SfD, Jil works as adjunct faculty for Dean College’s Dance Department, is a free-lance dance writer and is currently pursuing certification in classic Pilates technique at The Vineyard Pilates Center. |
| Julie Marie Caranddo (Co-Founder SfD, Performer), is a native of Rochester, New York. She holds a BFA in Performance & Choreography and an MA in Dance Education from SUNY Brockport, where she met and began dancing with Jil Matrisciano and Serena Smith. She also studied under and performed with James Payton, Suzannah Newman, Timothy Draper, Ellis Wood and the Limon Company. In addition to moving to Martha's Vineyard to begin her professional dance career, Ms. Caranddo has been teaching dance in NY and on Martha's Vineyard for 12 years. She began choreographing musical theater in 1997 at the high school and college level, and continues her work on the Vineyard. Ms. Caranddo is currently pursuing a certification in classic Pilates Technique which will enable her to focus on the development of the human body and her passion for the art of movement. |  |
 | Serena Smith (Co-Founder SfD, Performer) is a graduate of SUNY College at Brockport with her BFA in Dance. An original member of SfD, Serena has performed the company’s work at Choreographer’s Group-Cambridge 2004, Ten’s the Limit 2003-Cambridge, SUNY Brockport 2003, Built on Stilts 2001-04-MV, and The Cape & Island’s Dance Festival-MV 2002 where she assisted in producing the company’s debut concert. Serena has extensively studied ritual and native Jamaican folk dance in Kingston, Jamaica; worked with the Limon Company, Doug Elkins, Chen and Dancers, Ellis Wood and Shapiro and Smith. Serena has choreographed new dance works for Buffalo Academy for Visual and Performing Arts, and was the 2001 intern at The Yard. Presently, she continues to perform while pursuing a certification in classic Pilates technique from The Vineyard Pilates Center. |
| Claire Baione (Performer) from Reading, MA, joined She-figured Dance in the fall of 2003 where she had her debut performance at the Choreographer’s Group May 2004 concert. Claire has studied with Doug Varone and trained with Alvin Ailey American Dance Center. Her dancing has been recognized by The Yard and with the Joan Phelps Palladino Award, Trustees Dance Award, and as a principle member of the Dean College Dance Company where she is a senior currently completing her BA in Dance. As she moves forward she is excited to explore the creative world of movement arts and share her passion with others. |

 | Lauren Crellin (Performer) a graduate of Dean College with a BA in Dance. She is a native of Massachusetts and has been pursuing dance intensively since age 11 Lauren's honors include acceptance into the Alvin Ailey School in NYC, soloist with the Dean Dance Company, and The Franklin Performing Arts Scholarship 2003 . In the fall of 2003, Lauren began working with She-figured Dance and has since found the experience to be both challenging and enriching. |
 | Ashley Girgenti (Performer) from Adams, MA., received her BA in Dance from Dean College in Franklin, MA where she was a member of the Dean College Dance Company and was recognized for her achievements in dance education and performance through the Drucilla Carlson Phelps Award. She also attended Marymount Manhattan College in New York City where she received Merit and Competitive Scholarships two years in a row. She is a new member of She-figured Dance and is excited to be performing with them. |
 | Jennifer Guercio (Performer) is a native of Sterling MA. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Dance from Dean College this past May, where she has been an active role on stage and behind the scenes in many shows. She has done as much as asst. director of a student choreography show, to a performer of all disciplines in the prestigious Dean Dance Company. She has studied professionally with the Alvin Ailey School in NYC and also as a guest performer with Impulse Dance Company in 2004. This is Jen’s first performance with She-Figured Dance. |
| Rachel Beth Goldstein (Performer) from Worcester MA, has been a member of SfD since 2003 and has since performed at Choreographers Group in Cambridge and Built on Stilts on Martha's Vinyard. Rachel has a BA in Dance from Dean College. Her honors include being a member of the Dean Dance Company for four years and receiving their Trustees Award in Dance. Rachel owns and operates Eleve Danse Centre in Mendon, MA, teaches for the CCS Dance Academy in Holden, as well as, for Charlotte Klein Dance Center in Worcester. |

 | Quinn Morton (Performer) a native of Millbury, MA and a graduate of Dean College where she earned her AA in Athletic Training and her BA in Dance. She has studied at the Alvin Aliey Summer Intensive Program, performed with the Dean College Dance Company as a soloist, and performed with Impulse Dance Company in 2004. |
Lisa Pari (Performer), born, Rimini, Italy. Ms. Pari received her dance training from June Gallagher, Arabesque Dance Center, Rimini, Italy, Myra Silcox and The Dolman Ballet Theatre School, Newport, South Wales. She has performed throughout Europe and the US, and was an original member of London based Alex Buxton Dance Company. Ms. Pari has appeared in many music videos and commercials, and has created works for theatre, industrial and concert stages. Since moving to the United States, Ms. Pari has been performing as a member of Impulse Dance Company, and as a freelance artist. She has set original choreography for Impulse Dance Company, Bristol Ballet, The Moving Lab, Harvard University Mainly Jazz Dance Co., Wellesley College Dance Company, Dance Theatre Suitcase and Indiana Ballet Theatre. Ms. Pari gives master-classes throughout the USA and Europe and has been teaching at several New England schools and colleges, including, Impulse Dance Studio, Lexington School of Ballet, Boston Ballet, Middlesex College and Dean College. Ms. Pari is a licensed GYROTONIC® instructor. |  |
